I was paying child maintenance but moved overseas over 5 years ago now so stopped paying. I have lost all contact with my daughters mother, but the last she told me was that the case was closed. (CMS wouldn't close the case when I initially emigrated as I was unable to provide them with a contact address due to travelling).
Anyway, I recently tried to log onto their portal (I used to be able to when I lived in England) and it wouldn't recognise any of the details.
There is a good chance I will be moving back to England next year due to ill health in my family so I wanted to find out if the case was actually closed. I have sent numerous letter to CMS over the last few months using registered mail. I have tracked all the letters but they mysteriously all vanish after leaving the local sorting office in UK. I am convinced that CMS must be receiving my letters but I am none the wiser. I am back for a few weeks over Xmas so will try phone them (as can only do this from within UK).
Any advise/experience in similar matters would be gratefully appreciated 🙂
Hi,
When your back in UK you can ring them on 0800 171 2345. Do you have any letter with a reference number? Can tell them.
