I was paying child support for my child (i dont see her) by DD from my bank to the CSA. The child is now 19 and in June I received a letter saying that payments could stop. I cancelled my DD and yesterday received a letter stating they would be making deductions from my wage as I owe £14.5k. They have allegedly tried to call me, I can only assume on the land line as they didnt have my mobile no when I checked. I work full time so I have recieved no calls from them.
I have 2 questions here:
1) Do i owe the money to the CSA or to my ex?
2) Can i negotiate a lump sum payment in full and final settlement?
Thanks for any advice.
Hi There,
.
I would contact CSA and ask them for a breakdown of the amount they say you owe, CSA are closing all cases and they are being tranfered to the new CMS so it could be payments that they have picked up from some time ago, or it could be a mistake.
.
Give them a call and ask them to explain the amount too you and also send you a breakdown of the amount.
