[Solved] Help with CMS payments

Hi I’m wondering if anyone can help me
I have 2 children with my ex partner and I now live with my new partner who has two children (we share a daughter together and she has a daughter from a previous relationship). CMS have calculated my payments to be to my ex partner £173 a month and being in a low paid job, it’s something I simply can’t afford. It’s not that I don’t want to pay for my children I would just like an amount I can which would be £140. I have phoned CMS but they have been very rude and unhelpful. Is there any way I can dispute this?
My ex is now threatening to go to “collect and pay” as I was short a tenner last month and scrapped together what I could to pay her. I feel absolutely awful for this. I’m just wondering if there is anything I can do. Thanks

Not sure about the cms ,Maybe there is some sort of appeal process on their website? Also the Ex may well be worse off if she uses the collect service as the cms charge quite a bit I believe .

Have you looked into what benefits you can claim ?

Yes I did tell them I have 2 dependents now. They said I was supposed to be paying £160 so that’s what I’d be been paying her but when I rang up to change my circumstances when I moved in with my partner two months ago they said I’d meant to be paying her £200 but I had no letter telling me this all I have is the £160 letter but CMS don’t have any “record of this”. So they reduced the “£200 i was meant to be paying her to £173.
No no nights with me as she refuses to let me see them unless it’s her rules.
