Any advice greatly appreciated i have only just discovered that i am in arrears with child support my ex has made a claim because she has discovered i am in a relationship and just had a new baby, now child support are taking £290 out of my monthly pay !! We cannot live on £700 pm and dont know how to try sort this out, I understand I have to pay but how can i lower the payments???
Unfortunately Welshmark77 if the CSA has made a calculation based on your earnings then they are within their rights to act in this way. It is unfair and I can understand how hard things are.
Have you spoken to the CSS or done a calculation for maintenance to see if the payments are correct? Here's a link to the CSA calculator, just input your details and you will get a guideline amount.
