Help please. I am currently on sick leave from work and have been since August 2015. I have been in contact with csa for the last three months to find out about reduced payments. I thought it was finally sorted out until I got a letter from csa saying I had to pay the full amount for the months I have been off work as it was generated to the system that two months payments had been missed. The person from csa I had contacted when I had went off sick had told me to stop payments until it was re calculated when my sick pay payslips were submitted. I done this and now I have a letter giving me 14 days to pay full amount for the two months I had missed. The thing that gets me is my payment for November is at a reduced rate so why do they find it so hard to sort the other two months, as I was sick then too and on the same money as Im on now . The only thing I was expecting was a letter telling me how much the arrears on top of my new monthly payments would be, not this. Can anyone help with this as Im really confused.
Hi, this is something I have little experience of I'm afraid.
Hopefully other members will know more or our Child Maintenance Consultant usually answers questions quite regularly.
I would try speaking to them again this morning, if you don't have any luck, your local CAB office should be able to help and failing that you can try contacting your local MP as they're usually very helpful on these matters. Make sure when you speak to the CSA that you keep a log of who you have spoken to and when.
Hi There,
.
I agree try calling them again and asking them to explain why you have been asks to pay this amount even though you have contacted them at the point of going off sick,

I would look at raising a complaint with the ombudsman. Although their link is online, I would ask the CSA to give you the details of the ombudsman so you can make a complaint - asking them for that information might possibly make them realise that it would be better for them to sort it out properly without the need for further action.
