Hi I am new to the forum, i have just received a letter from the CSA and they are asking me for arrears from 1998 - 2003 yet i was still living with my ex then we had only been married 2 years. i was still living with the ex and did not get divorced and leave until 2004 so not sure what they are writing to me for demanding arrears when i was still living with her? i telephoned the CSA and explained and they were kinda scratching their heads? they told me to forget about the letter until they recalled the paperwork and then they would get back to me? i really dont understand this? can anyone advise or help. i have a private agreement since 2004 with the ex wife which we are both happy with and both do not want any CSA involvement. but they are now asking me for £1800 in arrears yet like i wrote i was still living with her then?
It sounds like an error, I wouldn't worry unless they contact you again asking for money for this period.
If your concernerned they might then you could maybe start to find some evidence that you were still living with your ex at this time, maybe bank statements, bills addressed to you both, council tax ect.
Darren
P.S. I have deleted the duplicate post in the welcome section
Best advice i can offer here is......Contact/write to your MP, explain the whole thing in detail and and have them speak to the CSA on your behalf.
