Hi, I split with my partner a few years ago, we have two children (13 and 10), the 13 year old lives with me and I have the 10 year old nearly 150 nights a year she barely has the 13 year old 20 nights a year. She is asking for money, she doesn’t work and I do. It just doesn’t seem fair. Do I have to pay her?
I have provided for anything shes asked for, kids uniform etc
I don’t mind paying my way, but this just seems unfair?
Hi,
If she is primary carer for one child, then possibly she has legal right to claim child maintenance from you. You could make claim against her for child that lives with you.
Would recommend you join this FB group for CMS issues:

Assuming she doesn't lie to CMS, then you they work on multiple of 52 nights per year to reduce maintenance, so you would be reducing the figure by 2/7th, or by 3/7th if it's 156 nights or more. You can claim full maintenace against her for the 13 year old.
