Hi

Today I received a letter from the cms,  my son is 30 years old and the last time I spoke to anyone at csa was around 14 years ago, when myself and my ex had our own arrangement and they knew this they were told and that was the last I heard. I was self-employed at the time so they couldn't apply for an attachment of earnings. I also reminded them that they were not a government office they are government funded, and threatening to take someones driving licence away is a conflict of interests because the DVLA is also government funded therefore its an unfair advantage.   however they are now demanding money from me for back dated none payments ?

the letter makes all kinds of threats that in my opinion are illegal,  I'm currently unemployed and suffer with stress etc. I have no income as where I'm staying the guy I house share with goes to work he's a great mate and asks nothing from me. but I can't claim anything.

So how do i stop this nonsense ?

No wonder I hear some awful stories about other Men and Women who take their own lives (my heart goes out to them all) because of the barbaric nature of the cms.

when a couple have an arrangement they need to back off

any ideas ?

Hi,

Would suggest you ask them for a full audit and you want a breakdown of money that you owe: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/request-your-personal-information-from-the-department-for-work-and-pensions

Also suggest you join this CMS support group, plenty of experienced members there:

I was under the impression that removing a driving license was a sanction that CMS had available to them, I don't remember it being available to CSA (could be wrong on this) so whether that helps I'm not sure
