[Solved] Frontline Workers and CMS payments

Hi, I've been classed as a frontline worker during this Covid-19 pandemic. My child maintenance payments have been calculated for the year but now I'm worried I'm gonna get stung big time at some point for having to work extra hours to help in this crisis. I've asked CMS but not had an answer. Does anyone have any ideas on this or have had any info they can share.

Thanks guys.
Stay safe!

A change to the monthly amount is usually driven by:

- a change in the number of overnights the children spend in your care
- a greater than 25% change to the current level of income used to calculate your current CMS payments - will the additional income result in you breaching the 25% threshold?

The way things are going I'm sure this will breach the threshold.

hi,

when CMS review your income on your next annual review, they will see whatever income figure HMRC has for you. if you are worried, perhaps you can arrange time off in lieu, instead of overtime pay if possible?

Alternatively, put that extra money into an approved pension - that will keep it out of CMS calculations.
