Hi all....
My sons ex thought she was going to be really clever and got in touch with the CMS, claiming she never
received any maintenance....( blatant lie as full paper trail showed)
My son diligently gave all information they requested and found out that the ex is well known to the CMS
as she has another (older) child by another father.
The CMS realised quickly that my son was open and honest and they told him that whilst they done their calculations he has to pay less than he did before.
Talk about shooting yourself in the foot....
Furthermore, the ex lied when the CMS asked her if there was a court order in place, my son said, yes there was and it stipulated that he has to drive to the ex's home town to pick up the child.
Now the CMS has sent out a lot of forms for my son to fill in, so he can claim the travel cost and parking charges....now this was at the instigation of the CMS.
Even if it is Β£1.00 less a month....every little helps.
The ex never could cope with money, she has begged my son to make early maintenance payments because she had to pay off some debt or another....something he refused point blank.
But...it goes to show that not all the people at the CMS are "bad" as my son has encountered some great help with this.
Take care
Kirsten
Hi all...
Ok...I admit....we are still grinning from ear to ear....once overnight stays have started the payments will go down further so the CMS have told my son.
Once all the forms have been filled in and sent back they will work out what further deductions are to be made, particularly in view of the fact that the court order states that my son has to travel to her home town to pick up the child.
The ex blatantly lied to them....not for the first time so we are lead to believe....!
As my son had a full paper trail to show the CMS, they worked out a great payment plan for him, which is less than he paid before and as I said before, once travel etc has been worked out it will be less still.
Everything else remains the same, he does not have to pay the CMS directly, he still pays into the ex's account as before.
But she did get stung for the cost of involving them.....oh dear....:)
Take care
Kirsten
Karma in action π
(that's the second time I posted that in the space of 10 minutes π - first was to Mr Slim)
