I have been paying the agreed amount of child support through CMS for the past 7 years. I have now received a letter from CMS stating my ex no longer wants to use the CMS service for payments. I payed my ex the usual amount by direct debit today but received a text stating she no longer wants to receive any payments from me and wants to send the amount back to me. I'm concerned if I stop paying it will come back to bite me in future if she decides to ask for back payments from when I stopped paying. Any advice? Should I continue paying her the amount I have been paying, or stop the payments as she's requested? Not sure where I would stand legally if she asked for back payments in years to come..
hi,
of CMS confirmed that ex does not want to go through them, then better to follow their advice and stop paying them.
