[Solved] Enforcement Dept of the CSA - advice please..

Hi there, I'm wondering if anyone has any experiences using the debt management dept of the CSA?

I'm writing on behalf of my partner who's ex husband has stopped maintenance payments for her 2 children.

Her ex never sees the two children and initially didn't want to pay any maintenance for them. The CSA became involved and payments were taken straight from his monthly salary (Collect & Pay), hence taking the choice from him to pay or not.

Somehow he recently found a way around this and payments have stopped. He still works in the same place and is an RE teacher in the local secondary school.

CSA debt management dept are involved, they have been unable to contact him by phone and have written to him giving him 7 days to respond before they contact his employer directly.

My question is how long do these things take to be resolved and is the debt management dept of the CSA effective.

Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately, it can be a slow process, but her ex is only making life difficult for himself in the long run - and in fact, when the charges start for collect and pay, he is almost certainly going to have a 20% charge slapped on top of his payments (unfortunaly, your partner will also lose 7% of the amount) Your partner needs to keep ringing CMS every couple of weeks at least to keep your case at the top of the pile.

Hopefully Huxley may have additional advice as he's far more experienced at this these days.
