[Solved] Do the CSA treat bonuses as basic income?

Can anyone help please?

I am under the CSA system and have been paying for 10 years without any issues. Whenever I have had a change of circumstances I have simply sent 3 months worth of payslips in to the CSA and they have used this to calculate my new payments. My account is compliant and I have never had any issues with them.

Just over 6 months ago I was enrolled on a performance related bonus scheme where I get a bonus payment based on my performance. This is not guaranteed and is paid on an ad hoc basis 3 times a year.

My tax code has recently changed and as a result the amount of net income has reduced and therefore my payments should also reduce. However, if I send in my payslips now it will show that I have received more than my basic salary for this tax year.

Can the CSA take this additional income into account and ask to see previous payslips? Am I better off waiting until the start of the new tax year and then making the changes so as not to open a can of worms?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I would be inclined to wait until your last 3 payslips show no bonus
