My son is 18 next week (Jan 2020). He has dropped out of further education. He receives unemployment and PIP benefit as he is on the autistic scale. He lives with his mother and younger sister.
My question is, do i still have to pay maintenance to his mother for him?

I dont think you do. Once they are 18 and out of education, it should stop. Worth checking with CMS first?

Are you paying through CMS currently, a private arrangement, or is it a court order. If he has special needs, then the court can make a maintenance order, and this can go on into the future, it doesn't stop at the normal age (18/20).
