I have recently split from my partner. I have a 9 year old. Apparantly she has contacted the CSA i have heard. We only split 3 weeks ago. What do i do about maintenance going forward? she is also refusing for me to see my child. I have applied the mediation and C100 already now waiting on the court.

What do i do next week when i get paid? pay her, don't pay her or keep the money to one side?

You can do your own calculation using https://www.gov.uk/calculate-child-maintenance so you have an idea of the amount. You only need your P60 income if you are an employee.  You are liable from the moment she opens the case with CMS but you have to pay only when they tell you to pay and how with a payment plan (you are already in arrears now. Your debt is growing day by day at a certain amount). If you pay her before the calculation is done, it will be considered a gift and you will still owe her all money. Keep the money aside.

Now you have to consider how your children survive till the calculation is done and CMS gives you your payment plan and if you want to give money as a gift for your children's sake.

hi,

if she has applied to CMS, then you can wait for them to send you a letter. it will have a payment plan. if it's wrong, then you can call them to sort it out.

If it goes off the last 12 months the figure would be quite low as furlough was my pay for 6 months
