Hi,

I pay CMA for my son, contact has been stopped by her but that's another things all together.

My son who lives with me has been given DLA, and I understand this means my CMA is reduced. But I do not want her to know why it's being reduced.. she is a nasty piece of work.

Can they withhold this from her ans just say variance due to personal reasons?.

Mark

Hi There,

I'm not sure whether they would disclose about your son, I know they disclose your income and I am pretty sure they also disclose about you having another child living at your home address.

You would need to speak with them to confirm

Thanks GTT,

Just rang them.. absolutely useless !

Can't advise me if it's worth putting the variation in (as in how much of a reduction ) and said they will advise her one of my children is disabled! As she might want to appeal !

She can't appeal as she doesn't know my family and is not a doctor ! And I have all the supporting medical evidence..

So, so unfair this system.. advised me to go to my MP !

If I new the reduction was significant I would press on, but they have me stumped and I will just have to leave as is..

No wonder this affects peoples mental health..

Do you receive careers allowance? If you do, it may be that you would only have to pay the flat rate, which I think is £7 a week. If that's the case it would probably be worth declaring your situation.

When my ex was paying me maintenance for my kids, she got the amount she paid reduced to the minimum (£5 per week under CSA) - the CSA told me it was because she received one of the relevant benefits, but they wouldn't reveal which benefit it actually was. I see no reason why CMS should work differently on that, so hopefully they should reveal the actual benefit you are receiving.
