Hi..Please bare with me I am new to this lol....I have 2 non resident children with 2 different mums ...2 resident children and 2 step children also resides with myself....In 2008 I separated from my 2nd daughters mother and she was happy for me to have shared care of my daughter and given the distance between us (70+ miles) she was willing to waive the maintenance in order for me to have a relationship with my daughter...Some point over that yr she decided that actually that wasn't acceptable. .reduced my contact by phone and by actual contact and contacted csa for them to assess..(already paying csa for my eldest daughter)They done the assessment ..at some point over the coming yr I accumulated arrears which then.csa decided to do attachment of earnings order..This was on place until july 2011 when I changed jobs ..at which point both parents decided they would prefer direct payments as for some reason 1 parent was getting paid and the other wasn't ...Oct 2013 mother of my 2nd daughter decided that she would go through csa (i think a power trip ) all maintenance was up to date and paid on my pay day but I am guessing she thought she would put me at an inconvenience or maybe thought I earned more than I was letting on to her...next thing I see is the supposed arrears from way back to 2008 are appearing again when as far as I was aware they were taken by the attachment of earnings order..now I am being requested to pay £467 pm to pay the arrears over 5 months. ..my question is....Both mothers cancelled collection by csa in 2011 so how can they bring up the arrears from the past again, if there even was any arrears remaining as far as I was aware for 3 yrs I had an attachment of earnings order which should of cleared these arrears...I have requested numerous times for the dates of when the arrears were accumulated. ..3 months later still waiting. ..I am quite sure there are no more arrears..

Hi

This does sound strange - if you aren't getting any response from CSA, then go to your MP and ask them to raise a complaint - you definitely want a breakdown of the arrears (if any).

If you are paying directly, make absolutely sure you are paying by bank transfer and that "child maintenance" is clearly specified on the payment reference, as proof of what you have paid and what it's for.
