[Solved] Deduction from Earnings Order

Hello,

I am a mum but I’m wondering if anyone can help.
I have requested a deduction from Earnings order from my ex-partner via the CMS.
We had a family based arrangement (which was 50% less than the CMS calculator) but due to his inability to stick to it which caused a great deal of hardship, I’ve had no other option than to seek maintenance this way.
They are seeking to recover their calculated amounts from the 12th of February. My ex has been sent 3 letters but not disclosed what has been said, or has attempted to pay the original agreed amount (to avoid the large sums and hassle involved) or communicated with the CMS.
When I spoke to the CMS this morning they said the case was waiting to go to a caseworker. Could anyone who has been in this situation give me any clue as to how long this process goes on for? No one there seems to have a clue?

Thanks in advance

If the father is refusing to cooperate, then the CMS contact his employer to ask them to cooperate - I think (but can't remember) they give them somewhere between 2 to 4 weeks to respond before following that up. However, CMS are busy, so I would call them every couple of weeks to politely ask for progress. I went through this recently for a friend of mine whose ex was refusing to pay arrears - we did have to track him down for them (they could have found him easily via HMRC, but didn't actually do that) but once they had this information, the DEO was up and running within a couple of months.
