[Solved] CSA involvement again

Hi All hope someone can help?
I have been paying a private arrangement with my sons mother for years now, (never a payment missed) I have just recently received a letter from CSA demanding arrears, they have decided that the amount I was paying wasn't enough and that I should be paying double the amount, originally the CSA were involved until we came to a mutual understanding so I haven't given it a thought for years. They tell me that the mother made contact with them again in 2009 to (re-open case) and the arrears are covering period 2009-2014, the first notification I have had of this is this week with a large bill, on initial conversation with them they told me they had sent me letters to an old address but after further discussions they have confirmed that no correspondence had actually been sent to me so I was completely unaware that this debt was accruing.
Has anyone any advice on the legalities on them not advising me for 5 years that there was a debt accruing?

Can you get something in writing from them to confirm that nothing had been sent? This is appalling behaviour by the CSA but they seem to be able to get away with it. I would go and see your MP immediately and get him to raise a complaint with the CSA (they can do it at a higher priority than you are able to do yourself) and gather records of your payments.
