[Solved] CSA Grrrrr

Hello Everyone
Im here for some advice for my partner .....He is currently paying the CSA 33% of his wages and after that and rent he is left with roughly £160 to live on .....he has back pay and current csa charges in that 33% is there any way he can get it re-assessed as it is crippling him and cant afford to live like it any more

I assume you mean arrears when you say back pay. I'll ask the CMO if they are able to give any advice on reducing payments.

The CSA is allowed by law to make deductions in respect of child maintenance directly from the earnings of parent who pays child maintenance. This is done either where the parent has chosen to pay by this method, or in some cases, because the parent has failed to pay the amount required voluntarily. The maximum the CSA can deduct is 40% of your earnings.

I’m sorry but we can't look into individual cases here. If your partner would like to contact the CSA then I am sure they will be happy to look into his case and discuss his current financial payments.
