hi all im just looking for a bit of advice about CSA areers i had an agreement with my ex where i was paying her maintenence in her hand every week but then after a couple of years we fell out then the payments lappsed so after another 2 years of not paying any mainetenence i finally received a letter off the CSA saying i had to pay threw them and there was outstanding areers so then they made an attachment of earnings on my wage so i ended up paying £100 pound a week strate out my wage to them, now the CSA told me i only had to pay this for one year which was sent to me in writing with the dates etc anyway the date i had to stop paying the areers was the 1/1/14 anyway the CSA did not notify me when it had stopped but they notified my work that they had to stop taking all the payments so i spoke to my accountant at work and he advised me not to worry about it, so time went on and the other day i had a call off CSA saying they needed to re asses my wages so i told them i hadnt payed the maintenance since january so the guy said to me in his disbeleif "o well i think we will have to look into this n then they said they would call me back,so 2 days past then i received a letter from CSA saying basically ive got to pay the areers of £2300 and still have to pay £100 a week so i called them saying i hadnt been notified about this untill now and they couldnt give me a strate answer so anyway i left it for 2 days and then called them back which is today and the guy on the phone said to me that the amount of areers is £3300 so basically how can they do this and just put £1000 on in 2 days something really aint rite so any advice would be greatfull thanx 🙁

Don't you just hate arrears, I've been landed with a £2500 sum recently from 10 years ago!

I would firstly ask them to send you a full account breakdown for you to check over

So you have the letter stating it was to end 1/1/14? Then I think you can make a complaint about this

Hi mickyfen,

It does sound a little strange. I agree with Huxley - ask for a full breakdown of payments you have made, how arrears have been calculated etc.

Keep us in the loop

Gooner.
