So, i am looking for a bit of advice as to if any action i can take against the CSA.? I will try and keep it short..
Last Oct, 2016 out of the Blue, I received a letter From the CSA saying they had previously contacted me regarding arrears of £943.80 for my Kids, Who are now 22 & 24.!! ( money being owed to the Secretary of State.)
I duly phoned them and discussed this to inform them they were wrong as i had been taken to court circa 2010 and duly paid all arrears.. I said i would look for the letter, albeit 7 years old.. the letter stated that i could be taken to court....etc...i asked for breakdown which arrived 9/11/2016 showing arrears of said amount. i received another 16/11/2016 letter telling me about change of circumstances..?? i phoned again, and obviously had a heated discussion. subsequently, the chap, informed me that there was no mistake and i had to pay, i refused and he said paraphrasing "it doesnt matter we will take it from your wages. you cant stop us", which i couldnt.. Another letter 3/11/2016 informing me of payments to be taken from my Pay under a deductions of earnings order.
so the payments were taken on Dec. pay and Jan pay, @ 50.00/month - not a lot but its the principal.
No court case, no legal action, no defence allowed from my side at all.
so where am i going with all this..
Searching for another letter i came across my court letter. my "certified copy interlocutor" dated 23/8/2010 basically saying no monies due by me .... i phoned with proof, and spoke to another operative who, asked for a copy?? i said you should have one and if there is an error in anything after that i cannot be liable as i have a legal document as proof. after a bit of digging he found notes on my case files, from legal enforcement team dated 30/8/2010 confirming "NO DEBT DUE".. so this is where i am today,
i am sending My proof on monday with a very strong letter, and demanding my money be re-imbursed .
My question is is there a grievance procedure i can raise against negligence by operatives within and /or CSA and how can they take money from my wages without a fair hearing., i did read on anther post that i can raise the issue with my MP? and have them possibly raise an action? cheers Andy
You probably know a lot of this already, but if not, this could be a useful place to go:

I would certainly speak to your MP - lety us know how you get on, as this does seem to be an appalling catalogue of errors on their part.
Thanks, i will have a look. at raising a complaint. it will probably fall on deaf ears like most complaints towards the government but worth a try..
If you have a good MP they will intervene on your behalf, but they are likely to want you to have initiated the complaints procedure before they can escalate it to the Parliamentary Omsbudsman.
Make an appointment to go and see them at their surgery, they usually hold them weekly, take all your paperwork and hopefully they will get on their case.
Best of luck
Cheers, i am going to forward all docs tomorrow to them then raise a complaint against them.. will keep you informed.. Someone has to take responsibility for the actions of their operatives..
I am going to phone and ask to speak to supervisor/Line manager.....
It's always a good idea to escalate up the chain of command... let us know how e how you get on.
