Need some advice please.

I'm currently paying csa for a child and have been for 2 years have never been put on the birthday certificate it's been left blank

5 days ago another man (her new partner) has been put on the birth certificate the child even has his last name.

I've phoned the csa and they've told me this is fine and I still have to pay is this correct?

Thanks.

Hi Daviesj77, this link on Gov.UK is helpful to ascertain your position.

https://www.gov.uk/child-maintenance-service/disagreements-about-parentage#:~:text=you%20were%20married%20to%2C%20or,shows%20yo u're%20the%20parent

Here is a list of Government recognised labs to take a DNA test. DadCheck may be a good starting point:

You may also want to consider writing to your local MP ( https://members.parliament.uk/FindYourMP) and ask them to write to the Child Maintenance Service. Typically, MPs will get a reply quicker than you based on their channel approach.

I hope this is of help.

Hi,

As both parents acknowledge that child belongs to them and Mother is in receipt of child benefit, then CMS case would stay open.

If you would like to correct issue with birth certificate or seek access to child, then you may have to consider taking legal route, such as applying for a parental responsibility order and child arrangements order.
