Can anybody help and confirm this please...the CSA has been chasing me the last 2 years for £19,500 from 1995 to 2001 ..but they called me this week and said due to statute of Limitations they are only going back to 2000...so i owe them £4,300 now is this correct i not heard of this before...
I hadn’t heard of this either, this might help
what does this mean,i don't quite understand....There is usually no time limit within which the CSA or CMS can collect child maintenance arrears. However, no liability order could be granted from 12 July 2006 for maintenance due before 12 July 2000.
I've certainly heard of statute of limitations - see this link and scroll to UK
Yours in longer than listed in there, but if they've been chasing you in the past, I think it may date back from that date.
There is no Justice anymore ,my liberty order was from 12th July 2000 to 31st August 2001 for £4,300..But i had 100% prof, that year i only earn £3,000,still have a copy of my Self assessment also my tax bill for that year and from 7th May 2001 i was living in the U.S for 5 years.I had my old passport stamped 7th May 2001...cannot believe the court never even looked at none of it...Under the old CSA you cannot contest anything...
