i pay my ex partner maintence money every week the amount was calculated by the csa. i pay her more than the csa say i should i no thats my choice but do i have to pay extra money/ buy items such as school shoes/uniform etc on top of paying maintence?

If you aren't paying through the CSA, make absolutely sure that you pay by standing order and quote the reference "child maintenance" - if you don't, you may find the CSA on your back after arrears and ignoring all payments you are currently making.

If you are paying privately, then how much you pay is up to you really. The CSA calculation says how much you should pay, and if you were to pay through them, that is the limit of your liability (financially speaking) - it covers clothes, school trips, food, holidays etc. Anything you pay in excess is entirely up to you and whether you want ot provide any extra.
