My partner had a court order for child maintenance between him and his ex, it was agreed that he pay until his daughter was 16, she will be 18 in March, she is doing a btec level 3 course at college, should he still be paying maintenance,
If the court order states maintenance is to be paid up until 16 then that's when it would stop. However, at that point the resident parent could then apply for maintenance through the CSA (which is now the CMS). They state that maintenance stops at 16, or 20 if the child is in full time non advanced education, this includes BTEC but not the BTEC Higher National Course (HNC)
If you check out the stickys at the top of the child maintenance section you will find a couple about when CSA stops.
