I have left my job and sent them my P45 however I got a letter immediately saying continue paying nearly £100 a week. I didn’t pay it but they then sent a threatening letter.

I figured I’d pay it another week to keep them off my back and show complying and I owed small back log anyway. But it’s been weeks now and I’m still paying it but not working? What happens if I stop paying? I don’t want to end up with collect and pay fees again . Shall I stop? CMS is run so immorally. ‘Terrorists don’t do government departments, but if they did , they’d probably be run it like the CMS.’

You need to sign for jobseekers allowance and/or universal credit. Then send a letter requesting nil income assesment.

Hi,

If you have time, its better to phone them and tell them. I rang them about job loss in the past and they just asked me to send them evidence, then they put me on nil payment.
