I have a dispute with the CMS regarding payments they say I owe from back in the CSA days. I was actually overpaying and this was agreed by CSA.
CMS say they only have the balance - not the case notes so can't do anything other than collect the money. I have been told by CMS that I can apply for freedom of information request to get the information but they don't know how I do it! You really couldn't make it up!
I have searched the internet and cant find the relevant forms, or how to request from a now defunct entity. Does anyone have any idea how I request this information?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Phil
hi,
check this link https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/body/csa
there is a blue button: Make a request to this authority
Thanks Bill, that's a really useful link 🙂
Bill
Many thanks for the link, have done a bit of digging and it seems that www.whatdotheyknow.com is quite public. Having said that I read through one of their responses (link below) and it seems I need to make a Right of Access Request not a FoI as advised by CMS.
Thought I would post this in case it helps anyone with the same problem in the future.
