Hi all, hope your enjoying the good weather. question. I pay child maint for 2 kids 1 14 and 1 15, currently i pay £400 per month but on top of that i also pay for their mobile phones and also into their child trust fund, its becoming difficult to keep up with the costs. Can i reduce what i pay ie take half of the costs of the phones and the trust fund out of her £400 per month?

is this maintenance arrangement private? if so you could reduce amounts. better to discuss with her before making changes.
If the 400 per month is CMS or court ordered you must pay that amount regardless of other payments for mobiles and child trust funds.
I would stop the other expenses rather than offset against CMS as you then wouldn't have evidence of paying the right amount which if you are paying based on CMS order you could then end up in arrears...
