I was wondering how it would work if my girlfriend moved in with me and paid rent. Do I need to advise the CMS and subsequently the rent paid would have a portion of it going to my ex? Any help would be great...
hi,
no, your girlfriend moving in and paying household bills has no bearing on your CMS case. CMS only concerns income of paying parent.
if your claiming benefits like UC, you should tell benefits office that she has moved in.
@dadmod2 thanks DadMad. I'm thinking of her paying the mortgage as the figure is about right and can be paid directly. I'm concerned about the £2,500 rent stipulation and her paying me rent falling into this trap. Everything seems a bit ambiguous in this respect!
