Spurgeons and Dad.Info doesn’t investigate reports of abuse or neglect. But below, you can find advice on who to contact if you have concerns about a child or young person.

Reporting a concern

It can be difficult to know what to do if you think a child is at risk. It’s important to remember that if you’ve spotted things that don’t seem right, others will have too. Speaking up can make sure that child gets help as soon as possible.

The sooner you contact your local children’s social care duty team, the quicker they can act. They’re available 24 hours a day, and can make an anonymous report if that feels safer. If a child is in immediate danger, please call the police straight away by dialling 999.

Hello

New here so looking for advice please.

I have been in a relationship (married) where I have had to do part time jobs to support my wife in her career, now that she has made it and got a fantastic job that pays very well she now wants a divorce, this meaning I have had to move out into rented accommodation, I have 2 children aged 9 and 6 and now she saying she going to claim CM, the problem I have is my wages just cover the bills and I am left with hardly anything after I pay for food, I will have the children at weekends for at least one night as I work nights in week.

So my question is will I still have to pay for CM even though I have no money and my wife has a fantastic wage.

I am paying for after school club but can't afford anything else as my job is low earning due to doing part time work overs the years to support her career.

Thanks for Advice

John

hi,

you would still have to pay CMS as its based on earnings. it will be a low rate for you.

I recommend you join this support group for paying parents, very useful:
