[Solved] Clothing

The CSA have informed me that the my ex wife has agreed to shared care to my son. My payments will reduce by a seventh. My ex wife has now informed me that she will not be providing any clothing when my son stays with me, eventhough i have him for 2 weeks in the summer. In my view i pay the required amount as set by the CSA and therefore other than the alternate weekends i have my son (which i provide clothing) i surely not required to purchase clothing to last these two weeks when i have already paid towards my sons clothing (CSA payments) to my ex wife.

Can anyone advise or refer me to relevant information?

This would be appreciated.

Thanks

Steve

Hi There,

welcome along.

This isn't a new question here and I actually had to ask it myself a while ago.

As mad as it seems she doesn't have to send clothes for while they are with you, and from experience if you pushed and managed to get this to happen they are more than lickely to turn up in old ill fitting clothes.

I guess from the official stand, you pay your ex monies for the children, what she spends that on is up to her, so effectively once she has the money it belongs to her and then so do the clothes she buys with it. I know things should never be so black and white especially where children are envolved but it somehow gets that way.

I had to go out and buy clothes for my son, to start with I asked family for hand me downs to save money and then slowly we have picked up enough now for when he stays with us for longer periods. Primark is a great place to pick up clothes at a good price.

Sorry this isn't the answer you were probably looking for.

Darren

Keep all the reciepts for the clothing and speak to the CSA and see if it can be taken into account to have your payments reduced to take this into account. I would also send him back in the clothes he's came in as well making sure they are laundered.
