hi all.can anyone help please,can i get tax relief when im paying child support?

Hi HGM,

I was about to respond and say "no I don't think so".... having quickly googled it... https://www.gov.uk/income-tax-reliefs/maintenance-payments-tax-relief
Unless you were born before April 6th 1935, you are not liable for tax relief on maintenance payments.

I was briefly very interested in being able to recoup 10% of my maintenance, unfortunately I'm not 79/80 years old +

If you can pay any costs by childcare vouchers (and your employer operates this scheme), and your ex agrees to this, then that gives you tax relief I believe, as it's done by salary sacrifice. It can affect tax credits and benefits though.
