Can the CMS order you to pay child maintenance if you give up work but still have money in my account from divorce settlement or if I decide to take a career break ?

hi,

if your not working, then your not expected to pay maintenance. however if your ex is aware you have substantial amount of money from the settlement, she could request a variation and CMS might consider it. info here:
