Hello
Just a bit of advice please
I finish with my current employer next month, and although I have a couple of things lined up - I may be unemployed for a short time. Although I only feel this will be a couple of months at the most, I just wondered how this will effect my CMS payments
I’ve paid consistently with no issues every month- although this is based on my current employment and earnings.
How will this effect me?
Thanks
Jonathan
You wont have to pay anything while you are unemployed. Just make sure that you phone and tell them the day you leave. They will also ask for evidence to be sent to the, so make sure you get a letter from your old employer or even better get your P45/ You will go on to a £0 assesment while you are unemplyed.
When you start a new job they will want proof of wage (offer letter) and if this is within 25% of your previous assesment, then your payments will stay the same.
DM me for any questions if you want, I've been through this.
Thank you that’s very helpful and seems straightforward:-)
To be honest, I would send it to them in writing, sent by recorded mail, and keep the proof of postage, and the signed for acknowledgement. That way you have proof in the future you sent it. Also keep a copy of the letter you sent.
