Hello all,

Its been some time since I've used this forum which I have found useful in the past. I have a query which I hope that someone can help with.

Ok, well I have three boys to my ex and I have had no direct contact for almost 9/10 years. My two youngest are 'looked after children' under the care of the authorities due to them being severely autistic. One went into the care system in 2018, the other in 2022. Only one of them goes to mums one night every other week. My eldest who has just turned 18 lives with his grandmother and has done since 2016. None of my three children live with her....she has married and has a young child now.

In August I raised a change on CMS online, to state that my two youngest don't live with her....and my eldest who lives with his grandmother. I was advised to challenge this through legal advice, and after speaking to a case worker on the phone from CMS. Anyway, this was rejected by them - she claims child benefit .....and I pushed back to ask them to reconsider, and this is still in process.

Now in October I left the UK as I took up a job in Saudi Arabia, and I have a resident visa. This all happened by chance as I was approached out of the blue . I'd left my job in the UK in the September & informed CMS. I also wrote to them to tell them I had left the UK.

They have emailed me to say that they want all sorts of information.....and they can close the case. They want my new address and proof of it (its noted that they will not share this), what i do for work, utility bills, bank statements. They also want to know : length of absence from UK, reasons for leaving, future intentions, nature of my work. Do I have financial attachments in UK, do I have a residential address in the UK to return to, and how I financially supported myself when i left my job in September (I was out of work for one month!) Also they have said they want the info within 14 days. They did also state that they will look into my mandatory reconsideration for the children....which seems late now anyway.

I just feel its a lot of information to ask for......I don't want to give too much away. I 've always thought it was unfair that I was paying her despite the kids not living with her.....more so the younger two. I saw this job as a new start and a blessing, I don't want to give too much info away....I just don't want my ex knowing anything about me. I'm a little worried if I don't comply that the CMS could make things difficult for me? I do know they are limited to the UK only......and where I am is not part of REMO.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance
