The liability date is when the parent becomes liable for child maintenance, however, is the income based on worked or paid, this question is because, I became unemployed on the 5th and became liable on the 7th of the same month, will child maintenance count any last wages regardless when they relate to? Or will they disregard them as they ware earned before the liable date but paid after the liable date started?

Hi,

Did you tell CMS your unemployed now? In theory you should not be paying if out of work.

Yes I did, but they went on to ask me about employment details and wages.
