Hi i was wondering if I can stop paying my ex child maintenance and pay it directly to my son as he is now a junior soldier and at AFC harrogate full time he will return for the occasional weekend he is also earning £1000 a month from the army so im guessing his mother does not get child benefit anymore. Any help would be appreciated

I would think that child maint payments should stop if he is earning and not in full time education?. But there is no harm in you paying him some money directly to support him.

Are you paying via CMS? If not, then you could inform the mother that you are intending to stop payments to her. If there is a CMS case open, then you would need to contact them and get them to look at the case - until they agree you can stop, you have to keep paying otherwise you will go into arrears with all of the hassle and expense that can entail.
