Child maintenance 19 years old

Child will be 19 in may, they started a new course in September after failing to get back into their previous course for lack of attendance and failing to submit projects. Left current course in November and works a part time contract to earn a wage but works plenty of overtime. They plan on returning to education this September for a 3rd new course. Is there a time limit on the length of time they can be out of education before child support stops?
