Hi all,
My daughter, who I have supported for 10+ years, finishes her A-Levels this year at the age of 18Yrs 7 Mths.
She has decided to go back to college to study an NVQ Lvl1 (which is GCSE equiv I believe). Can she do this and expect me to continue paying until she is 20?
Last I heard she was going to study medicine and I was quite prepared to support her directly through University but to receive a DEMAND that I continue paying CM to my ex so my daughter can start a vocational course seems wrong. Indications are that she will get good A-Levels so is this really fair?
Thanks
Hi
Others may know more than me but I found this online which seems to have lots of information: https://www.qredible.co.uk/b/child-maintenance/
It seems to depend on what arrangements have been made for maintenance up to now
If the child stays in non-advanced full time education, then yes you are liable until age 20. If they go to uni, then your liability ends.
