I got shared residency of my kids and have them 60/40 with ex.

She claims child credit and I think she gets £140. Now I got them half  time also, am I entitled to child credit as well?, I know it only goes to one parent, and she won't pay me I dnt think. So what's the procedure?

Unfortunately, I don't think there is any procedure for you to get half of the tax credits. If there is more than one child, you could each claim child benefit for one of them, which will give you both a higher level of child benefit (you both get the first child amount) and that is perfectly legal.

we have 2 kids, currently she receives the benefits for both of them.   so do i just need to apply to get benefit for one of the children, and she keeps it for the other child?

hi,

you can try speak to child benefit people and see what they say: https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/hm-revenue-customs/contact/child-benefit
