Firstly I removed your sons name from your post, it's best to keep specific details off the forum just in case your ex or anyone else stumbles accross your posts

With regards to contact you will need to first try and both attend mediation, this is now required before you apply to the family courts for assistance, if your ex won't go or you can't work nything out there, then you can apply to the courts, but try and resolve through mediation if you can as this will be quicker and less stressful.

If you end up in court you ca represent yourself throughout so it only costs the £250 application fee when you submit the forms.
