Hi
I am a n.r.p and have been paying maintainance on c.s.a 1 for over 10 years. Am i right in thinking that within the formula there is a "carers allowance" for the resident parent and this ceases to be relevant when the child reaches 16?. If so can i expect a reduction in my payments when this birthday is reached?
i would like to add that i am a good dad, i have had my daughter every other weekend which involves driving 200 miles each time. I feel i have been expected to pay too much and welcome an oppotunity to reduce it a little.

Hi

I'll ask the CMO if they are able to give any guidance on this, so keep checking back.

Hi

I'm Sarah the Child Maintenance Options consultant. Unfortunately I can't look into individual cases as Child Maintenance Options is a separate organisation from the Child Support Agency (CSA). If you would like to contact the CSA then I am sure they will be happy to look into your case. You can find contact details on any letter the CSA have sent to you. Or, you can find the right number here: https://www2.dwp.gov.uk/csa/v2/en/contact/index.asp.

For more information about child maintenance and access to useful tools and forms online you can visit www.cmoptions.org, or if you'd prefer a confidential chat you could call the Child Maintenance Options team on 0800 988 0988 (free from a landline).
