Ok, so no judgement please.
My Son is 18 and I’m of the opinion that I no longer need to pay his toxic Mother child maintenance.
Me and my Son have a good relationship and I financially support him directly as well as via maintenance payments.
I don’t think I legally need to anymore as he left full time education last June when was 17. He didn’t enroll on any college course and started working part time.
Then in November 23 he enrolled on a functional skills course (which was over 12 hours per week) as he had struggle with his Maths/English due to Dyslexia and not passed his GCSEs. his full time education hasnt been continuous, although I dont know if that matters.
He turned 18 in January this year.
Naturally I’d prefer to pay my son the C.M directly to help support him. But if I do that, would I be breaking the law?
hi,
if you are paying maintenance through CMS, you should check with them if its ok to stop paying.
@bill337 Hi Bill, I'm not paying through CMS. I have an agreement directly with the Mother.
