Hi guys,

Yesterday I was informed by my payroll I had an attachment of Earnings (of a ridiculous amount) being taken out of my wage. The reason they notified me was because the address was different from my own. Knowing this I called the CSM to find out what was going on. I was told very abruptly that they have sent many letters to my address and confirmed my address as the one I am currently living (I know this to be a lie as I only moved into this address 2 months ago) They also stated I owe 3.5k in arrears yet this only started in February from my knowledge, and they would not listen to my circumstance with other children in the house and have also based all this on me earning 44k per year (I wish I earned that) The whole experience made me feel like a criminal and got called a liar. Little unsure how to challenge as they are right in their eyes and I feel I have no say

Hi there

I think you should call again and explain your circumstances and ask to speak to someone in authority. If they are not listening ask them to put their decision and the reasons for it in writing. The next step would be to appeal the decision, you could also get your MP involved if they continue to ignore you.

Best of luck
