[Solved] Appeals process very pushy for me not to appeal

Hi All,

I've recently requested an appeal in relation to the figure the CMS issue to me, as I believe the figures they are presented me are incorrect. I first contact them and ask for an appeal and they were very much you don’t have any chance of it being successful and you'd be better just agreeing our figures. After 10 minutes on the phone they final agreed to look into what I was saying.

Today I had a call back stating they agreed with what I was saying, but because it didn’t make a big difference (£40 per month I consider a big difference ) I should not go through with the appeal and just pay the requested amount. Then when I said I'd like to proceed, they were very what I consider rude on the phone to me basically trying to push me into accepting the wrong calculations.

Is this normal and are these people on some sort of commission, as I felt like I was dealing with a very pushy sales person.

I can't say I've had any experience with this, but if your calculations are correct and theirs are wrong, then I see no reason why you shouldn't continue with the appeal.

What?!
Of course we do not have the specifics of the case, or the accuracy of the reported statement form CMS.

However I put this to you....
Imagine if it was YOU who had been paying £40 pounds a month below the correct amount. Do you think that the CMS, the receiving parent or indeed anyone of the people who go on about 'absent fathers' would have agreed waive what is owed 'because it didn't make a big difference)?

Remember the hassle that you went through just to get them to admit they are wrong, Push for proper adjustment of the figures.

Will just an update after nearly a month and me pushing for the appeal. The whole thing has turn into a nightmare with mistake after mistake made by CMA and me still awaiting for the recalculation and now also having an complain case going on down to the treatment I have received. 😮

Note to all, we all love our kids and are happy to pay a fair amount. But don't let the CMA bully you into paying an amount that you don't fell is right.
