Hi everyone,
my case has got a little difficult and its affecting me quite badly.
My ex partner and I split when our daughter was born and it ended quite bad. But I still managed to see my daughter constantly but I had constant abuse and harassment from my ex.
She constantly refused me access but after so long would give up and let me see her...
Shes clearly still got an issue with me because she constantly rings CSA demanding them to check my wage, I pay 35 a week as per CSA have advised.
My case as become difficult now because shes moved nearly 55 miles away and not advised me of the address / refusing me to speak and see my 4 year old daughter (My world)
At first she said I can collect her so I did the journey took nearly 3 hours in total due to traffic, so I told her I cannot travel this far 4 times a month, at a push its going be twice a week, which is sad on its own, but it also costs 20 quid in petrol each time. I also work full time with zero holidays!
She is constantly abusing me on Facebook, emails, texting, and whatsapp and it appears to be when shes drunk (randomly texting me at 12.15am calling me names on a Saturday)
Every action I take I think about my daughter so sometimes I do not respond at her aggression I just leave it because she will then poison my daughters mind...
Shes refused my mother and all my family to see her and im really stuck for choices. It makes me so angry that she can do this and get away with this and im left sad and depressed,
please can anyone advise or help, I cannot afford court...
thanks is advance
daz
You may be able to get a slight reduction in the amount you pay due to travel, though from the figures, I think the reduction will be very small.
With regards to the abuse, you need to disconnect from her on facebook, and block her on whatsapp and text and calls. Then get a cheap mobile phone and give her the number telling her you have changed your number - use this phone only for contacting her, and switch it off when you aren't prepared to take her calls etc - basically you are taking back control of when she contacts you, and you only read her texts/whatsapp messages (on the new number) when you are ready to do so - it will make a big difference to you.
Yeah I cut all contact for my own sanity actd is spot on with that good advice mate
Does anyone know how I can get to see my daughter? Who do I need to approach? Ive never been in this situation before... I cannot believe that my ex is doing this, my daughter means the world to me.. There should be laws about this, feels like the system is so one sided!
Any help would be appreciated, thanks
Hi Daz
The first step is going to be mediation - try www.nfm.org.uk - legal aid is still available for mediation, so you may qualify for this.
You need an address to give to the mediator so that they can write to her and ask her to attend. Without knowing her whereabouts the only option open to you is court to apply for a seek and find order. You can do this without having to pay a solicitor...there's plenty of info about this in the stickys at the top of the legal eagle section.
To apply for a seek and find order you would need form C4.
