Hi, i currently earn £38500 and my maintenance was calculated on this. I have been offered a job in the Emergency services on £27000 basic plus shift allowances etc. For the first few months i will earn £27000. What would happen with my payments i cant afford a £11k drop without the maintenance dropping. Can anyone please advice as i need a definate answer on this.

Kind regards

hi,

CMS apply their 25% tolerance rule to your income. so with your new job your income will have dropped by more than 25%. so if you tell CMS, they should recalculate your payments based on your £27k job, and your payments should reduce. do you know how much the shift allowance will be?
