[Solved] A twin each and I still have to pay!

Hi
This is my first visit to this site and my first post, but I don't know where to turn.

I'm divorced from my wife and we have an 18yr old which I have just finished paying for.

However, we have twins and one of them has come to live with me.

My ex wife has gone straight to CMA again and now it all starts again!

I have been on the website and the calculation comes out at £195 a month and I have been told I can possibly get £7 a week from her as she doesn't work, but gets benefits as she is living with somebody else and has more children. The new boyfriend and father of the children is self employed, so she won't be going to work anytime soon.

How can this be fair, I would think have one each, it would be [censored] for tat?!!

Any advise appreciated.

Thanks

Hi and welcome.

Out of curiousity, how come you have a twin each - the courts don't usually split up siblings, and I would have thought they would be even more reluctant to split twins.

Back to the point, I'm afraid that the calculation you have come out with is correct - it's based purely on income of the parents, and if you are on benefits, then it's a flat rate, which under CMS is £7 per week as you have been quoted. I think the only way around this would be if you could argue genuine 50/50 shared care, but your ex will certainly be wise to that.
