£1200 a month CSA Payments and just been informed I owe an additional £14,000

Need help, my ex apparently opened a case 2 years ago with the CSA, we had an agreement that £1200 a month which was the outputted CMS calculators value would be ok, this was years ago (7 ish) and have carried on paying this every month even when I was not working due to covid shutting down my customers.... Got a letter from the CSA on Monday that after a financial investigation which I was apparently invited too (though the call handler could see the notes but not the actual posted letter!!) states that I owe an additional £14,000 (yep fourteen thousand) in back money...

Thanks to Covid my business went under and I've taken a permeant job paying considerably less which the CSA has calculated as £600 a month, but with rent as I had to sell my home (she lives in an area of high demand and costs) and bills I'm already left with negative each month (I dont have SKY or a flashy car) and now they're putting it upto £1000 a month... I have the children on average 3 nights a week and I'm drowning, any help would be gratefully received

hi,

because kids stay 3 nights a week, they should be able to reduce your payments. did you change address in the past, as possibly they sent letter to wrong/old address?

I would recommend this CMS support group for paying parents. lot of experienced members there that should be able to advise you better: https://www.facebook.com/groups/239699060076601

if you join, remember to answer their registration questions or they will not accept you.
